My Journey to Property Styling

Hello Readers, Fellow Colleagues & Friends,

I hope you're all going well. I wanted to share with you a little of my journey to starting "Style For More".

Firstly my name is Shanna and I have a wonderful husband named Ben and beautiful daughter Mia, we also own a very naughty and food driven Beagle named Betty Boo.

My working career started with a traineeship with the Salisbury Library Service, I then progressed to various jobs within the organisation. With my favourite being the very last position I held, which was running children's programs and lecturing Early Childhood University Students.

I then fell pregnant with my daughter and a new chapter of our lives began. Ben started his own ceilings and repairs business as we added to our growing family and I worked within the family business.

During this time we had sold, rented and moved out of homes that we built or renovated and so on. With each home we moved from the real estate agents would ask, "who we used to style our home"? This got me thinking was I brave enough to branch out, try something different now that my daughter was getting older?

This then led me to start looking for courses to study. This was no easy task as there are plenty of courses out there for interior decoration, architecture and renovations but very few specifically designed for property styling. And as we all know property styling is very different to interior design. So a shout out to Naomi Findlay for creating a course that is specifically designed for this area.

I am new to this industry and have recently finished my first install. So you might ask what now? Well that's exactly what I've been asking myself?

This is why I'm writing this blog. For all of you who were brave enough to start a new business wouldn't you agree we all had to start somewhere. There usually is that one person/client who was instrumental in our success. That very first one who we never forget and can't thank enough for being brave enough to take the step and see what we could offer.

My husband and I have 17 years of owning our own ceilings business. We know that property styling is only part of the service, customer service, attention to detail, positivity, enthusiasm, being dependable and work ethic are so vital to a good business.
